Men in tights

Who's cute in their little overalls with their little snack pack?
I must be in trouble the way Eli is slapping that ruler at me.
Ok. When I mentioned on Facebook that I think it's good parenting to put tights on your boy child when it's zero degrees out, I got supportive responses, but one friend said, "As long as you don't take pictures to embarrass him later." I don't think these should be embarrassing, do you? At least they're manly brown tights.
Ok, this one might be a little embarrassing. But I couldn't resist this face.
Those eyes!
Baby tights dance.
Eli loves this book.
What a sweet sweet boy. With this little feller running around, we have a house full of love.

Watching History

We just finished watching President Barack Obama become President Barack Obama. With hope, tears, cheers, and pride we welcomed this historic moment. We look forward...with hope. Finally.

At Home with Sickie

Our little Eli has been under the weather since midday Saturday. Fever, sleeplessness, increased heartrate, mouth pain, drooling, no appetite, etc. Good times. So we've been laying low.
We've tried to play hard while the tylenol is working. There have been short bursts of fun and smiles.
Unbeknownst to Eli, he played host to this little critter in his back pocket for most of the day. Hey, you gotta get a laugh where you can in this type of situation.
Driving a plane in a sunny spot.
And we have lift off...
We had to get outside. So we followed Dada out to shovel the driveway. It's been in the 60s here lately, so we've been getting out when we can.
He loved stomping though the slush, walking up and "running" down the driveway, and watching Dada shovel and throw ice chunks.
Oh, and of course, pine cones.
Back inside for more pitiful sickiness and snuggling.
His eyes told it all. We had two rough nights and two and a half rough days, but today his eyes are bright. His fever is down and he's playing and eating food. Hooray!

It is a beautiful day. Dad's off work. So we're going to actually leave the house and got to the park to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a healthy boy.

The Jelly Bean's Debut

Here is a very fuzzy shot of the sweet newest Decker-Smith. We saw him/her on ultrasound for the first time today, and what a looker! His or her little heart was just beating away. What a beautiful sight.

When we were done with our appointment Eric presented me with a gift certificate to a fun maternity boutique in town. How sweet is he?

Playdates and Snow Days

Sunday we had a fabulous playdate with Eli's buddy Miles. Miles and Eli have been pals since they were 4 weeks old. They go way back. This is Miles' "Fat Chance Getting This Camera Back" face.Miles is hilarious and makes the most fabulous faces! Here something musta been really funny.
Miles and Mama Eve. She made us yummy pancakes!
Eli's making the same gesture his shirt monkey is making.
Doing the Elmo dance...
Which apparently involves toe pointing.
Magical Miles has one blue eye and one brown. He's mystical and cute!
Eli as rugged mountain toddler.
Today it snowed. Ten inches so far. We got bundled up and headed out to explore. Eli wore his fabulous bear snow boots! They served him well and kept his little feet all dry. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
He actually enjoyed the snow a bit this time.
There was a 10" high snow cake on the picnic table. Yum!
Eli made it into a snow angel.
And I made a big one on the porch. I can't get enough of making snow angels. Once I was sitting it a drive through line during a big snow and I got out and made a snow angel right there.
He actually seems to be enjoying himself. FUN!
Sweet Snow Pea.

He got a kick out of me making it snow. Until he laughed so hard he faceplanted in the snow. And now we're all warmed up by the fire. Eli is wearing an outfit Eric would put in the "Your Mother Dresses You Funny" Category.
