The Home Life

It's been one big adjust-fest around here, as we all try to figure everything out. Eli is alternately excited about and dismissive of Amos, and Amos is excited about food and dismissive of everything else. Mama and Dada are just hanging on the best they can.

Eli wearing Mama's glasses.
The boys on the bed. Note the chocolate all over Eli's mouth. Our friends Russell and Priscilla had baby Abby last Wednesday, and they sent us an Edible Arrangement to congratulate us on Amos. Eli had a go at a few of the chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Amos snoozing on the bed.
An Asheville favorite, Mellow Mushroom, opened down the street from us on Monday. We went to check it out. Eli covered his ears because of some loud sound.
Outside, there was a fountain. It was pretty cool in the twilight. Amos, Mama, and Eli stopped to watch it.
Eli got pretty contemplative about it.
Dada and Eli. Eli won't sit still for any photos anymore.
See? This is the most sane picture out of a series of about 15 that we took. Gone are the days of smiling at the camera and saying cheese. Now he squirms away as fast as he can.
The rare shot where everybody's eyes are open.
Amos is really only content with his Mama. These were some of our favorite clothes on Eli, and it turns out they're great for Amos too.
The pacifier is proving to be a useful tool for this kid who wants to eat all the time.
Toes.
Nothing like a Mama to snooze on.
His face and head are getting less splotchy and lumpy.
The life of a PK: napping in dad's office, right on the countertop, with a bobblehead Jesus in the background.
A little bit better napping setup.
Eli is the big man on campus this fall.
He's decided that Amos' swing is a lot of fun, even though he never really cared for his when he was a baby. It's cute and it doesn't seem to hurt anything, so we let him swing away.

Now when I see a huge lump move across my belly I have to wonder if it's his head or his BIG TOE!
